This webinar aims to give trainees and early career researchers (ECRs) insight and advice on best practices for not just making their code available online, but easily distributable so that others can use it. More specifically, we want trainees to come away actively thinking about making their code available and in a ready to use state when building it for a project. We hope that this will encourage the next generation to take a more active role in code transparency as well as increase the usage of good methods that others may be interested in applying.

Dr. Jessica Turner will discuss experiences sending and receiving neuroimaging analysis code from large scale collaborations. Sharing code among experts can have a different set of expectations than sharing code with inexperienced researchers. She will discuss some potential best practices for sharing neuroimaging analysis code more broadly.

Dr Mikail Rubinov will share his personal experience on developing and maintaining network-neuroscience analysis toolboxes, thoughts about making code available for public use, as well as general advice about making use of modern tools to make code robust, accessible, and durable. Dr Rubinov will illustrate these insights with examples from his recently developed network-neuroscience software.
