Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of physicians and psychologists involved in advancing the understanding of the anatomical and functional organization of the human brain using neuroimaging.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the organizational principles of the human brain on macroscopic and microscopic level, and their changes during development;
  • Describe exciting recent developments and applications of real-time fMRI;
  • Discuss the success and pitfalls of pattern analysis techniques applied to neuroimaging, carefully considering the ultimate goal of learning procedures used as tools for classification purpose.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Medical Education Resources (MER) and the Organization for Human Brain Mapping. MER is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
