Tourism and Events Queensland

Thank you to Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) for supporting the 2025 OHBM Annual Meeting in Brisbane, Australia.

Be sure to check out an Eco-Tourism tour while you're in the land down under. Whether you go with your fellow colleagues or enjoy a holiday break with family, there are many options to choose from!

The Eco-tourism tours TEQ offers include:

  • Park Tours- ParkTours takes you on small group walking tours to national parks and natural regions around Queensland. Discover parts of the country on easy to medium grade walks. Travel between destinations by private coach. Relax and unwind at the end of the day in comfortable accommodation. Most meals are included with the focus on local cuisine and regional produce. ParkTours guides are experienced and have your comfort and energy levels in mind.
  • Araucaria Ecotours- Araucaria Ecotours offers quality wildlife experiences designed by a research ecologist with PhD in zoology and long experience in enjoyable educational presentations and excursions for all ages.
  • Auswalk Walking Holidays- Auswalk is the pioneer of walking holidays in Australia. On their tours you will walk through national parks, progressing from one accommodation to the next. Your luggage is moved ahead while you walk. You can choose to go with a guide or try a fully supported "self-guided" walking holiday. You walk without a guide, following the comprehensive Walk Notes supplied and yes, they move your luggage.
  • The Boat Club- The Boat Club is a vibrant entertainment hub nestled along the Urangan marina, offering visitors a diverse array of attractions. This one-stop precinct features free live entertainment almost daily, with local and regional musicians performing in the main lounge. The large deck overlooking the marina provides stunning views and a perfect spot to relax.
  • North Stradbroke Island Surfschool- Operating all year round in the crystal clear waters of Point Lookout, dolphins and whales are often seen during lessons. The North Stradbroke Island Surfing School has been a long running initiative of the local board-riders on North Stradbroke Island. The lessons will not only get the local kids ripping but also give holiday makers the chance to get up and surf like a pro. So why not get the kids into something active during their holidays, or go along and act like a kid yourself.
  • Whitsunday Crocodile Safari- Nowhere else in Queensland can you experience so much in one location. Take a trip on the “Wild Side” and see crocodiles in their natural habitat in the Whitsundays.
  • Boobook Explore- Less-explored places. More local insight. Just an hour's flight west of Brisbane, find inspirational small-group experiences revealing the unique landscapes, ecology and history of the southwest Outback Queensland region, including Carnarvon Gorge National Park.
  • Tour Gold Coast- Tour Gold Coast provides certified eco tours and activities for conference, events, social and student groups. Founders of the renowned and popular Natural Bridge Glow Worm Tour, Tour Gold Coast pioneered eco-tours on the Gold Coast.
  • Country Charm Discovery Tour- For ecotourism seekers, the Country Charm Discovery Tour is an eco-certified, self-drive tour of the beautiful Scenic Rim region of South-East Queensland, part of one of Australia's exciting National Landscapes - the 'Green Cauldron'. The discovery tour can commence in Brisbane or the Gold Coast.
  • Talaroo Hot Springs Tour- In the heart of the Gulf Savannah Way in outback Tropical North Queensland, Talaroo is a magical landscape alive with the culture of the Ewamian people, a fascinating history, abundant wildlife and the unique natural wonder of the Hot Springs.
